Securing Container Production and Trading Foothold

Ms Tran Dieu Canh, Director of Tan Thanh said, “The mechanical industry is a noisy and toxic industry. When I started my business, I did not count on all the hardships of this industry. But, I did not know why I felt very excited about this work.” She added that although the profit was not high, the work was stable. Her husband also works in this industry, thus, he understands all her hardship.

 

To date, Tan Thanh is famous for container manufacturing and trading, and has a number of customers across the country. The company can satisfy the demand for production, trading and leasing of freezing, drying and hanging containers, and provide container repairing services for ports. The company also leases trailers and repairs mechanical products. The working process has been verified to meet the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system by BVQI. Tan Thanh’s customers are container goods transporting companies. Besides, Tan Thanh also manufactures container boxes for construction and seafood industries. For example, construction companies need containers to make mobile accommodations for their workers, while the seafood industry needs containers to store frozen products.

 

The company now has nearly 300 workers. Apart from creating conditions for them to work, Ms Canh always pays due attention to taking care of workers’ health. The company ensures all working regulations for its employees such as social insurance, health insurance, labour protection and regular health checkups. If acquiring diseases, its workers will be supported. The company gives bonuses for productive workers. Apart from taking care of its workers, Ms Canh often takes part in social and charity activities such as building charity houses, raising funds for the poor, giving gifts for children and providing flood reliefs. The company also actively participates in business exchanges with others to consolidate business relationships. Currently, Tan Thanh is a member of the Vietnamese Business Club, Vietnam Transport Association, Vietnam Seafood Association and Vietnam Construction Association.

 

Canh said the excellence of business administration does not depend on gender, but on skill. At the same time, the company needs a strong workforce to approach modern working style.

 

Ms Canh’s biggest ambition is to export Tan Thanh products to neighbouring countries like Cambodia and Laos. She is seeking a place for trailer production and will equitise her company to mobilise more forces for investment and development.
