Vietnam PM Okays Change in DO Reserve

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has recently agreed the Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) to change diesel oil (DO) for the country’s reserve at the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
Petrolimex currently uses DO 0.25S for national reserve, it elaborated.
 
Petrolimex will be responsible to cover all expense relating to the change, the government attributed.
 
Vietnam now has to import almost petroleum products due to the absence of major oil refineries. The first Dung Quat is still under construction and is due for operation in February 2009.
 
The country is estimated have imported 12.55 million metric tons of petroleum products worth US$7.5 billion in 2007, up 12 per cent on year and 25.7 per cent, respectively, said the General Statistics Office (GSO). (Government Website)
