SaigonTel to Build US$23 MlnSciencePark in Southern Vietnam
Saigon Telecommunication and Technology Corp (SaigonTel) July 1 received an investment license to build a science park worth VND400 billion (US$23 million) in HCM City, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported Wednesday.
 
The 20-hectare Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park will offer 11 hectares of workshop space, and 6,000 square meters of roads and support facilities when it s in May next year.
 
A healthcare center and green space will cover 4,000 square meters, according to Dang Thanh Tam, chairman of Saigon Invest Group (SGI), the parent of SaigonTel.
 
It will have a hygienic indoor environment and water supply tem as well as a power generation tem that will automatically become operational during blackouts.
 
Tam expects the facilities to attract foreign investors who will rent or buy in the park.
 
Last month, the HCM City People&rsquos Committee granted a license for SaigonTel to set up a joint-venture with a Singaporean partner to develop a 15.9-hectare Thu Thiem Software Park, which will require an investment of US$1.2 billion.
