Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank’s Securities Company (SBS) said in its recent research that the ten biggest securities companies in Vietnam were holding a combined 57 per cent of market share in brokerage of share and fund certificates in the first ten months of this year.

Saigon Securities Incorporation (SSI) took the lead in the brokerage market share, with 14.5 per cent, followed by Bao Viet Securities Co. (BVSC) with 7.9 per cent, ACB Securities Co. (ACBS) with 6.1 per cent, Vietcombank Securities Co. (VCBS) with 5.7 per cent.

SBS said the remaining 88 securities firms, in the total of 98 ones operating in the country, made up only 43 per cent of the market share of brokerage, indicating that small and medium-sized stock brokers are facing great challenge, particularly in the context of economic difficulties and stock market collapse.
