US$300 Mln-Port to Be Built in South Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh City-based Trai Thien Shipping Company got approval from the People’s Committee of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to build a US$300 million international transshipment seaport.
The deep-water port will cover 300 hectares in Con Dao district and will be capable of serving heavy-load ships. The port is expected to reach annual cargo transport capacity of 10 million tons.
Con Dao owns favorable natural conditions for developing international seaports and shipping services.
Located in the southern key economic region, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is a center of energy, industry, tourism and seaports in Vietnam. (Vietnam Economic Times)
