CMC Antivirus Detects, Kills Bank Account Stealing Rootkit
In April 2009, highly dangerous rootkit MaOSRootkit, which steals bank accounts, returned with a new variation. According to incomplete statistics, this rootkit has stolen hundreds of thousands of bank accounts and is infecting computers in Vietnam at a multiple speed. CMC International Securities (CMC InfoSec) issued a warning on May 6.
This rootkit is a an advanced malware and distresses world-leading security companies. It keeps the amount of system modifications to a minimum and is very challenging to detect from within the infected system.
However, CMC Antivirus and CMC Internet Security, which is integrated with anti-rootkit, CMC CodeWalker, has been updated with new features to detect and kill this rootkit.
CMC InfoSec recommended users to update patches for their website browsers and scan their computers with CodeWalker.
