Black & Veatch, a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company, on May 6 hosted a special event for government officials, U.S. embassy staff, company clients and business partners in Vietnam to celebrate Black & Veatch’s 20th year of providing vital water and energy infrastructure in the country.

“Vietnam’s commitment to advancing economic development that benefits its residents is reflected in its ongoing industrial growth and approaches to improving energy and water services in the country,” said Len C. Rodman, Chairman, President and CEO of Black & Veatch, during the event in Hanoi.

“We are proud to have been assisting Vietnam for the last 20 years and look forward to continuing our strong relationship in providing sustainable infrastructure solutions.”

Before becoming part of Black & Veatch, Binnie & Partners of the UK began water project work in Vietnam in 1989. Black & Veatch opened its Hanoi office in 1994.

Since 1989, the company has completed 23 water-related projects in Vietnam and has an additional five water projects currently underway. The company’s energy business has completed five consulting service projects and one engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project. These efforts are helping enhance the quality of life for Vietnam residents through clean and highly efficient energy generation and reliable energy delivery, as well as greatly improved water quality and infrastructure that will ensure future generations in the country have access to clean water.

“We’re working closely with local governments and the development banks to bring innovative solutions that are both effective and appropriate to communities in Vietnam,” said Ralph Eberts, Senior Managing Director of Black & Veatch’s Asia Pacific water business. “The projects we are working on will have a dramatic and positive effect on people’s lives.”
