Vietnam-Argentina Trade Hits US$424M in 2008

Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Argentina reached US$424 million last year and has jumped 13 folds over the past decade, the Communist Party of Vietnam said, citing officials of the two countries at the second inter-governmental meeting in Buenos Aires recently.
 
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Doc Huu Hao met with Néstor Stancanelli Deputy Secretary, International Economic Negotiations, Argentina to discuss measures to boost cooperation in economics, investment, energy, oil and gas, tourism, agriculture, husbandry and labor.
 
No details of bilateral trade have been specified, however.
 
Argentine officials said the Latin American country will increase trade promotion activities in Vietnam Sept while the Southeast Asian country will launch trade promotion in the foreign country in Aug.
 
Argentina wants to order more apparels and footwear from Vietnam, state media said. (CPV)
