Vietnam to Publish List of Technical Barriers On Apparels
A list of technical barriers on garments and textiles exports released by many countries will be published in Vietnam in the coming time, said Head of the Textile and Garment Institute Dr Nguyen Van Thong.
The document will include substances banned by countries and apparel giants in the world to use for the garments and textiles industry.
The textiles and garments is a production field which uses big volumes of chemical substances, but Vietnam still does not have its own standards on allowed thresholds of toxic substances, Thong said.
The country has not also installed any technical barrier to prevent the import of toxic products, he added.
Thong said his institute would soon send a dispatch to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ask for offering safety regulations on apparel products. (Youth, VietnamNet)
