Vietnam Top Miner Targets Revenues of VND43T This Year
The state-owned Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the country’s leading miner, has targeted revenue of over VND43 trillion (US$2.544 billion) this year.
Vinacomin’s coal production revenue will reach VND26.5 trillion (US$1.568 billion).
The group aims to produce 42.3 million tons of natural coal in 2009 and sell 40 million tons of clean coal.
Vietnam had produced 18.9 million tons of clean coal in January-May, down 10.3 per cent on year.
In the five-month period, the country exported 9.69 million tons of coal valued at US$479 million, down 18.8 per cent on year in volume and down 20.7 per cent on year in value. (New Hanoi)
