Dutch Firm, PetroVietnam’s Affiliate to Sign Oil Tanker Building Deal Today
Contractor Damen Shipyard of Holland on June 26 finalized an agreement with PetroVietnam Technical Services Joint Stock Company (PTSC), an affiliate of the state-run oil monopoly of PetroVietnam, to build two AHT oil tankers for the price of US$16 million.
The 3,500-HP and 4,750-HP vessels are expected to be completed in December of 2010 after 18 months of construction.
The ships are expected to facilitate the transportation of products from Vietnam’s first oil refinery, Dung Quat, in central Quang Ngai province. (Vietnam Economic Times)
