Vietnam Estimated to Use 1.9M Tons of Steel in H1
Vietnam is estimated to have used 1.9 million tons of steel in the first half of this year, up 3 per cent against the same period last year, said the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).
In June, the country’s total steel use is projected to reach 330,000 tons, said the association, but it did not give on-year comparisons.
Domestic steel producers are forecast to produce over 340,000 tons of steel this month, said the VSA.
At present, the country reports 150,000 tons of finished steel and 470,000 tons of ingots in stock.
The VSA estimated that domestic demand for construction steel would continue to remain high in the third quarter of this year thanks to the government’s stimulus packages. (The People)
