Vietnam and Egypt have agreed to set up a joint entrepreneurs’ council consisting of 30 officials from the two countries’ most successful companies as part of two-way efforts to boost bilateral trade and investments.

The council’s establishment was announced at the Vietnam-Egypt business conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh during President Nguyen Minh Triet’s working trip to the fifteenth Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) conference.

More than 70 leading companies from Vietnam and over 100 Egyptian partners sat together to exchange information and discuss investment opportunities, and all agreed to expand bilateral trade from the modest level of US$170 million.

Communist Vietnam is aiming to expand exports markets to the Middle East, Africa and Latin America amid the global economic downturn, state media said. (VNA)
