Vietnam Announces New Code for Diplomats
The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry announced on Jul 6 a code for administrative procedures for Vietnamese diplomatic agencies abroad and at home.
The code, as a part of the Project 30 which aims to simplify administrative procedures relating to state management, covers 81 procedures involved in such things as passports, registration of births, nationality, adoption and marriage.
Of the total, 40 procedures will be applied at Vietnamese representatives diplomatic crops outbound and 32 for domestic offices.
Deputy Prime Minster and Foreign Minister, Pham Gia Khiem, emphasized that the code will facilitate overseas Vietnamese’s living abroad as well as their ability to contribute to their homeland easier.
The minister later posted the finalized code on his ministry’s website.
At the National Assembly session held on June 18, which was associated with the promulgation of Law on Vietnamese Representative Offices Abroad, deputies voted the expansion of power as well as responsibility of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives outbound.
This is considered to be an active move to help diplomats abroad make their work effectively. (VNS, Vietnam Net)
