The Politburo, Vietnam’s most powerful body, has decide to launch a campaign to call on the Vietnamese to use locally-made commodities, as part of efforts to help spur the country’s economic growth.

The campaign will focus on promoting information dissemination to domestic and foreign customers to have deep understanding of the current production and business capacity of Vietnamese firms and quality of Vietnam-made goods and services.

It will also aim to encourage more Vietnamese customers, state units, and businesses and producers to use Vietnamese-made products and materials when purchasing for individual or state purposes, or implementation of projects, respectively.

This campaign is expected to help the country to revise market protection policies and issue more legal documents to protect domestic production and customers in line with the World Trade Organization (WTO)'s regulations; and accelerate domestic trade promotion. (Saigon Liberation, Young People)
