Two Plans for Hanoi Space
An international consulting joint venture of Perkin, Posco and Jina (PPJ) has recently sent the second report on planning the Hanoi space for the period to 2030, with vision to 2050, to the Ministry of Construction and relevant bodies. Accordingly, the Greater Hanoi’s space will include the core zone (from the belt road 4 inwards), green corridors and satellite urban zones.
Mr Perkin, President of Perkins Eastman - a representative for PPJ consortium, presented two plans for mapping out the Greater Hanoi’s space, which covers traffic, water supply and drainage, health, education and administrative systems.
According to PPJ, the space of the Vietnamese expanded capital city will include the core zone (from the belt road 4 inwards), green corridors and satellite urban zones. Vietnamese Construction Minister Nguyen Hong Quan has instructed the Urban Development Department, the Urban and Ural Construction Planning Architecture Institute and the Hanoi Planning Institute to collaborate with PPJ to make complete reports to submit to the Government in early August 2009.
