Vietnam Ranks 7th Worldwide in Anti-dumping Lawsuits
Vietnam has been ranked seventh out of 100 countries and territories in the world in having to cope with the highest number of anti-dumping lawsuits, Prof. Dr. Vo Thanh Thu a member of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) said at a seminar on the issue held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 12.
The country has to date faced 39 anti-dumping lawsuits, and the suit failure rate could reach as high as 70 per cent, added Prof. Thu.
The seminar aimed to update Vietnamese businesses and managers on experiences in handling the issue worldwide.
It also provided local firms an overview of the U.S. and E.U. regulations and information on anti-dumping in order to enable the firms to penetrate these two key markets effectively.
The Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies, the Center for Integration WTO Technical Assistance of Ho Chi Minh City, the Multilateral Trade Assistance Project Vietnam III and the USAID-funded STAR-Vietnam project co-sponsored the seminar. (Young People, Vietnam & World Economy)
