Vinatex Spends VND7B on Stimulating Domestic Sales

The Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) said it will spend VND6 billion-VND7 billion (US$392, 949) on building distribution networks of products to rural areas remote islands.
 
The move aims to stimulate the domestic consumption while the sector’s export abroad is meeting difficulties due to the global economic crisis. 
 
The network of 60 Vinatex’s supermarkets (Vinatex Marts) is also organizing many promotion programs.
 
Vietnam was estimated to have shipped US$5.02 billion worth of apparels between January and July, down 1% against the same period last year. (New Hanoi)
