Work Starts on FPT University in Hoa Lac

On August 13, 2009, FPT Corporation kicked off the construction on FPT University in Hoa Lac high-tech park in Hanoi.

 

The FPT University project, designed by Japan’s Nihon Sekkei Company, is estimated to cost VND 2,696 billion (US$168.5 million) and is scheduled for completion by 2015.

The university will occupy an area of 30 hectares and accommodate 10,000 students and a staff of 1,000 when it is completed. The university expects to enrol its first 1,000 students in October 2009, with the student body increasing to 3,000 students by 2011.

 

The university campus covers 307,000 square metres, including 95,000 square metres for lecture halls, 118,000 square metres for dormitories, 27,300 square metres of specialist residence, 10,800 square metres for administrative units, 23,200 square metres for physical training areas and over 33,000 square metres for other school activities.
