Vietnam Monthly Imports to Rise to US$6.4B-US$6.5B in Q4: Ministry
Vietnam’s monthly import spending is estimated to be between US$6.4 billion and US$6.5 billion in the fourth quarter of this year, reported the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The estimated figures were up from the country’s monthly average import value of US$5.36 million in the first three quarters, the ministry said.
Vietnam is forecast to spend between US$68 billion and US$69 billion on imports this year, representing an on-year fall of around 14%, the MoIT added.
The country’s trade deficit is projected to stand between US$11 billion and US$12 billion this year, down from US$17.516 billion in 2008.
Vietnam reaped US$41.74 billion from exported goods and imported US$48.28 billion worth of goods in the first nine months of this year, down 14.3% and 25.2%, respectively, from a year earlier, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said. (Capital Security, GSO)
