Vietnam-Czech Trade Forecast to Rise 4.5% to US$300M in 2009
Trade between Vietnam and the Czech Republic is forecast to rise 4.5% from a year earlier to US$300 million this year, according to Jirina Zakova, a representative from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Southeast Asian country will continue trade surplus with the Czech Republic in 2009, Jirina Zakova said.
Vietnam tops the list of priorities in the Czech Republic’s export strategy during the 2006-2010 period, she added.
In 2008, the two-way trade rose by 14% to US$287 million, of which Vietnam exported US$253 million and imported US$34 million.
Vietnamese exports to Czech include footwear, apparel, seafood and rubber while its imports are weaving machines, industrial machines and powered milk. (Vneconomy)
