EVN to Raise Investment in Power Projects by 22.64% to VND58.5T 2010

The state-owned Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) plans to invest a total of VND58.5 trillion (US$3.165 billion) in its power projects this year, up VND10.8 trillion or 22.64% on year.
 
The group targets to put in use seven more power plants with a combined capacity of 2,130 MW in 2010.
 
It also plans to start building two power plants and put into operation ten 500-kV power line projects this year
 
To this end, EVN is seeking approval from the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment, and Finance to prioritize official development assistance (ODA) for its power projects.
 
Earlier, EVN said it will need VND715 trillion for its 48 power source projects with a combined capacity of 22,784 MW through 2015. (VNA)
