Foxconn Plans to Invest US$540M into Vietnam Hi-tech Park
Taiwan-based Foxconn Group plans to develop two projects totaling US$540 million into Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi, as part of its pledge to pour US$5 billion into Vietnam.
The projects are a US$500-million multi-purpose services complex and a US$40-million utility and a logistics area, according to the park management board.
Foxconn is completing procedures and expects to get the board’s investment certificates later this year.
“We are closely working with the Taiwanese firm for the projects,” said an official from the park authority.
Foxconn and Kinh Bac City Development Share Holding Corporation (KBC) will set up a joint venture to develop a US$200-million urban and hi-tech park in the northern port city of Haiphong.
Around 40 projects capitalized at US$5 billion are waiting for the park’s investment certificates. Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park has licensed 41 projects totaling over US$1 billion. (Investment)
