A pride of the port city
Looking at impressive results achieved by the company in recent years, it is a surprise for many people to know that the company was a small manufacturer of products for children in its early days.

In 2005, the company went public, marking a new milestone in its development history. With a new governance mechanism, the dynamic company has grown up to be a top producer of plastic pipes in Vietnam.

Until now, the production of plastic pipes like PVC, PEHD and PPR has been strongly developed. The firm also turned out connectors (tees, reducers, elbows, caps, adaptor sockets, etc) and this has become a plus of the company. With proper development orientations, the company has strongly expanded and Tien Phong-branded products have reached out the port city of Haiphong to serve national and international demands.

Opportunities and challenges
Mr Pham Van Vien, CEO of the Company, said: The key for the existence and development of Tien Phong trademark is the quality of products, which is generated by human resources, machinery and technology. Therefore, apart from continuously training, recruiting and fostering high-quality human resources, the company also frequently invests in new production machines and technologies. At present, Tien Phong is the only plastic pipe manufacturer powered by European machines and equipment. Besides, the firm also restructured and streamlined its organizational apparatus to boost its governance and operation efficiency.

In 2009, the company’s revenue expanded 37 % while its industrial production value climbed 28 %. Profit reached VND310 billion on a registered capital of VND210 billion, doubling the amount it earned in 2008.
To go south, the company invested 51 % into the VND100-billion Southern Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company.

To recognise proud achievements of the company through its 50-year history, the Party and State have bestowed many noble awards and titles like Labour Hero in the renovation period, third-class Independence Order to the company.
