There is no doubt that Vietnam has gained practical successes in the last 20 years since the adoption of Doi Moi( renovation) economic policy. However, there are still challenges for the Vietnamese Government and its people, including infrastructure, management skills, and education as well as regulation in financial services. Along with this process, Harvey Nash, a UK company, has much experience in Vietnam.
According to Mr Alistair Copeland, Managing Director, Outsourcing and Offshore Software Development at Harvey Nash plc, Harvey Nash is constantly impressed at the ongoing pace of development in Vietnam. “We see continued investment from the Vietnamese Government and foreign business making Vietnam ever more appealing to the rest of the world,” says Alistair Copeland.
Harvey Nash, a global professional recruitment consultancy and IT outsourcing service provider entered the Vietnamese market more than a decade ago. Through a blended mix of on-shore and offshore resources based in Vietnam, Harvey Nash provides services including Software Development and Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and Recruitment and Payroll Outsourcing services. Over the years, the company has helped some of the world’s leading companies build scale, cut costs and improve agility.
September 17, 2010 marked a new milestone of Harvey Nash Vietnam when the company was honoured to receive prestigious awards from Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for its contributions to the IT and software industry on the occasion of Harvey Nash’s 10th year Anniversary in Vietnam. The Award for software development recognises Harvey Nash’s success as a major exporter of software development services from Vietnam to the UK, Europe and the US. Commenting on the award, Mr Alistair Copeland shared: “It is a real honour. We will continue to strive to exceed the high expectations of our employees, customers and partners in the coming time.”
Apart from business activities, Harvey Nash Vietnam also pays attention to social activities. In Vietnam, the company equipped Saigon Children’s Charity with a Ford 4X4 to enable them to support children’s education in the countryside of Vietnam. This has enabled them to get more children into secondary education from remote villages. In addition, Harvey Nash has also developed their global website, enabling them to raise additional funding to support further education for disadvantaged children.
The success of Harvey Nash Vietnam is not only a testament to the skill and effort of its professional team, but also a symbol of successful cooperation between Vietnam and the UK. Hopefully, there will be more UK companies in this field or others coming to Vietnam to strengthen cooperation in the future.
