PetroVietnam Seeks US Investors

The State owned Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) has called for foreign investment for its 26 infrastructure, electricity and finance projects at a conference entitled “Opportunity to Invest in Vietnam: Energy and Finance held on September 15, 2011 in Washington.
 
The conference was part of a 10-day investment promotion programme organised from September 13 to 22, 2011 by PetroVietnam, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the US Chamber of Commerce (USSC).
 
PetroVietnam, led by Deputy General Director Nguyen Tien Dung, introduced 26 projects in such fields as infrastructure, electricity and financial investment. The group sought investment for its important projects including Dung Quat refinery, Long Son refinery, Nam Con Son 2 gas pipeline, coal-fired Quang Trach 1 power plant, and coal-fired Long Phu 1 power plant.
PetroVietnam met with leaders from US corporations and economic organisations to discuss and conclude cooperation plans.
 
At the conference, PetroVietnam signed agreements with McKinsey & Company on supporting foreign investments into PetroVietnam’s projects.
