Toyota Continues its Lead Position in Vietnamese Market

Since its establishment, Toyota Vietnam has always maintained a lead in Vietnam with an average market share of 30 per cent and in August 11, 2004 attained the record sales of 40,000 cars.

Mr. Makoto Sasagawa, Director General of Toyota Vietnam said: “We are not complacent about our achievements. The principle of Toyota is to reach ever higher standards. We believe that our two new products, Zace Limited and Vios Limo, will meet the diversified needs of customers and enhance our lead in the Vietnamese automobile market.”

Zace Limited is a sporty number, good for both business and family outings. With the “One for all” concept Zace Limited is designed to make life more enjoyable and convenient. Zace Limited comes in two colours:  yellow and grey. It is reported that TMV will produce only 200 cars of this kind with a sales rate of 50 cars a month.

Based on the of Vios 1.5G prototype, Vios Limo is more efficient, economical and handy with special equipment for the target group - taxi companies. Vios Limo is equipped with safety belts in all seats, a GOA frame and a fuel saving VVT-i motor. The car is the best choice for taxi companies. Sales will reach 250 in the fourth quarter of 2004.

According to TMV sources, Zace Limited will be on sale at agents nationwide on September 1 and Vios Limo on October 1, 2004 with their respective prices of US$29,800 and US$22,000.

The key to TMV’s lead is the constant introduction of new cars meeting the demand of customers. This year, TMV will celebrate its 10th anniversary since its establishment in Vietnam with more new products.
