Giao Thuy Construction JSC: Better Prestige after Each Project

2012 marks the milestone of 10 years of development for Giao Thuy Construction Joint Stock Company. Under the leadership of talented and creative engineer Nguyen Van Hung, the company has overcome difficulties and stood firm in its journey. Starting as a small enterprise with charter capital of only VND 2 billion contributed by shareholders, the company has made strong progress to become the local leading reputable construction business. Given the motto “Create strong brand by Loyalty,” works undertaken by the company always meet requirements of quality, technicality, aesthetics and scheduled progress, as well as labour safety.

 

Looking back the journey, Engineer Nguyen Van Hung shared, “After 20 years working, especially 10 years since the establishment of Giao Thuy Construction JSC, I’ve seen nothing wrong with my path.”

 

He has always determined good products to be the prerequisite of an enterprise because it is the foundation for survival. “Career should be loved. With each construction project, from the beginning to the end, I always have a feeling that it was my house being built,” he added.

 

With passion and enthusiasm, he has gradually expanded business scale. In his opinion, it is decisive for enterprises that want to survive and develop in the market mechanism to ensure loyalty among clients. This requires skilled and experienced technical staff so that good products can be produced. Thus, with knowledge and experience, he has put much effort to recruit and do training for engineers and workers as well as adopt suitable policies and procedures to attract labourers. At present, there are 40 engineers and highly qualified workers.

 

Besides human resource development, the company has also actively invested in equipment, which explains for progress and quality of works undertaken by the company.

 

From a small business with mainly manual work, so far, the company has a strong workforce well equipped with modern mechanized construction machines which make it possible to compete and participate in bidding for large works with technical complexity and value of hundreds of billions.

 

No matter how large the project is, once the contract is signed, all work should be conducted carefully. Being mainly involved in varied sectors from transport construction, civil irrigation, all the undertaken works have helped the company win trust in terms of meeting schedules, and technical and aesthetic standards. Particularly, concerning sea sluice, it is known for leading construction technology and receiving much appreciation. Sea sluice construction requires deep knowledge about sea, tide structure, and experience to make choice of an effective construction option. At present, the company is in charge of a bidding package for Nghia Hung storm shelter anchorage and moorage with total fund of VND 200 billion.

 

After 10 years of operation, the company has seen a remarkable growth. The main area of the company is Hai Hau, Nghia Hung, Nam Truc districts and Nam Dinh city. In 2011, the company’s turnover was VND 300 billion, exceeding by nearly VND 100 billion against 2010. All taxation norms were met. In the coming 3 years, the company will have stable work with signed contracts.

 

The company aims to expand the area to other provinces. At the same time, the company has established a vocational school training masons, carpenters and welders, which started operation in 2010. It will be the foundation for the company’s future potential.
