After more than 33 years of efforts to assert its brand value, Viet Duc Export Wood Processing Joint Stock Company (Khaviwood) has confirmed its position and prestige in the Vietnamese wood processing industry by stepping up technological application and technical renovation to boost production and enhance product quality. Thus, the company wins the trust of customers in the country and in the world.
Founded in 1979, Khaviwood is a leading producer of export indoor and outdoor furniture, billiards and granite tiles. Previously, the company produced only wooden furniture, shuttles and wooden weaving accessories for textile firms in the province. Then, it expanded business lines, diversified products and exported.
Since its inception, Khaviwood is loyal to its specialised products - indoor and outdoor woodworks like floorings, doors, cabinets, beds, tables and chairs which are mainly exported to the EU markets like Holland, Britain, France and Turkey (about 100 containers a year). Its wooden products are processed by modern machines and technologies. The production processes are self-contained, from wood sawing, boiling, drying and processing to finishing and packing products. Eye-catching features, unique design and premium quality of furniture products quickly conquer domestic and foreign customers. All the products, either sold domestically or exported to the world, have the same quality and satisfy quality certifications of importing nations. The company also produces billiards which quickly made presence all over the country, particularly Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Dak Lak and Can Tho. The products are also exported to Taiwan.
Apart from modern equipment, Khaviwood understands that human resources decide the existence and competitive advantage of the company over its rivals. Mr Tran Van Hung, General Director of Khaviwood, said: In the past years, the Vietnamese wood industry has made great progress and export turnover keeps growing. Wooden products are a key export of Vietnam and importantly contribute to the growth of the country's exports. However, high inflation, spiralling interest rates and public debt crisis in the world are hurting local wood companies.
But, the company keeps its quality commitments to customers to keep its prestige. Khaviwood is also capable of meeting urgent orders - an advantage to attract foreign importers. The firm also cleverly used “objective factors” to boost its global sales like boycott of Chinese inferior goods, flooding and political crisis in Thailand. For that reason, its revenues in 2011 and early 2012 impressively increased. Due to diversified business realms (furniture, billiards and granite stones), sound investments, well-trained human resources and modern production equipment plus the effective application of ISO9001:2008 international quality management system, Khaviwood has increasingly asserted its position in the Vietnamese timber processing industry and on international markets and provided best products and services for domestic and international customers.
Mr Hung added that existing difficulties like rising input costs and human resource shortage are likely to cause slowing growth and declining export turnover in the coming time. Anticipating the prospect, the company’s leaders are focusing on seeking new ways, manufacturing suitable products for local market, and maintaining the development of traditional wooden products. Besides, it steps up diversifying business lines, investing in new technologies and equipment to enhance granite exploring and processing capacity to meet the market demand.
After more than 33 years of construction and development, Khaviwood has contributed to the development of processing industry in Khanh Hoa province. Its business achievements are a clear proof for a new resilience to exploit local potentials and advantages for local social and economic development.
