Ea Tul Coffee Co., Ltd Active to Surmount Difficulties

Ea Tul Coffee Company under Vietnam National Coffee Corporation (now Ea Tul Coffee One Member Limited Company) once suffered loss for a long time. However, under the leadership of the new director Le The He and its appropriate development path, the company has experienced significant changes, gradually tackled difficulties and gained profits.

 

Becoming Director at Ea Tul One Member Limited Company, Mr Le The He had to deal with burden of difficulties. The first issue related to finance with large debts of commercial banks and insurance. Mr He worked with the banks, especially those with large debit to make commitment and propose payment agenda from 2011 to 2017 and ask for exemption and deduction from interest, most of which agreed with the proposals. “It is really a positive sign that the Company can gradually get over difficulties, thereby see growth in coming time” – happily shared Mr He.

 

Concerning debt of social insurance from previous years, Mr He sought financial aids to pay. In the past year, the company was able to pay a half of the debt.

Since 99 percent of workers are ethnic minority people, the company has many difficulties in communicating and training them.

 

Last year, the harvested coffee was still of low productivity and volume, the company only gained 173.086 kilos coffee bean, fulfilling 45 percent of the plan. The climate was adverse to the coffee growth with a serious drought in irrigation season 2010-2011.

 

The Government’s tightened currency policy also made it hard for Ea Tul One Member Limited Company to get access to loans.

 

Confronting many difficulties, the Company has attempted by all means to tackle financial issues, sought and exploited outside funds to pay for materials and fertilizer for coffee farm.

 

On the other hand, the Company has well communicated with workers, strengthened trust of farmers toward the company, taken advantage of support from CuMgar District Standing Committee, authorities and related agencies, which has helped to stabilize production and aim at production of over 2,000 tonnes fresh coffee, exceeding the plan.

 

Considering stabilization of labors’ life one of the crucial purposes, in spite of funding difficulties, the Company has worked out an appropriate option to take care of the garden, making coffee sustainable development and reducing product’s price. Thus, the coffee garden has seen stable growth with the crop production in 2011 beating the plan. Thank to high price of coffee price, the labors’ income is basically stable with 60 percent of households exceeding assigned norm.

 

Concerning development orientation in coming time, Mr He said that the Company will invest and take care of the plantation under right technical – economic procedures to improve productivity and reduce production costs, given that most coffee plantation area is in the peak of business circle to increase production, take advantage of the recovered coffee price to bring about high economic efficiency.

 

At the mean time, on-going construction works such as upgrading and improving Ea Tria Reservoir and others will be completed so that they can be put into operation and serve local production and welfare.

 

Thanks to high efficiency of production and trading, the Company has continuously gained profits. Recently, Ea Tul Coffee has recruited hundreds of workers, increasing the total number of workers to over 400. With continuous progresses as well as local social-economic development, the Company has won appraisal from departments and the authorities.
