Hanoi Steel Joint Stock Corporation (HNS) is a distributor and supplier of domestically made and imported steel for factories as well as industrial and civil construction. The network of the company has been recently expanded with three subsidiary enterprises, four steel centres in Hanoi City, a branch in Hai Phong City, a branch in Ho Chi Minh City, a representative office in Da Nang City, and an associate - Hung Yen Steel Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company.
In 2011, global and domestic steel markets were very volatile. Global consumption shrank because of public debt crisis, slowing economic growth and rising inflation that threatened economic stability and social life of most countries. In an effort to rise up, pass through all difficulties and challenges, HNS adopted various many measures to expand business operations and complete business targets approved by shareholders.
In 2011, HNS fulfilled its objectives and created the basis for the following year development. The total revenue exceeded VND1,600 billion, 12 percent higher than the plan expected by shareholders and 37 percent higher than in 2010. Warehousing service revenue was VND28.5 billion, up 36 percent from the yearly plan and up 42 percent from 2010. Financial obligations paid to the State Budget valued at VND25 billion, up 1 percent year on year. Monthly salaries averaged VND5.7 million, up 22 percent over 2010. The firm established stable business relations with different steelmakers in the country like Vietnam Steel Corporation, Vinausteel, VPS, Vinakyoei and Pacific Steel.
In the future, HNS will continue maintaining annual growth of 20 percent and carrying out some real estate, commercial centre, office and apartment projects in Hanoi. Thanks to capital source, land fund, cooperation and business capacity, HNS is striving to become an industry leader in the country.
