It is certain that as society progresses, consumer demand to meet daily needs is higher. One of those essentials is travelling, particularly during public holidays. It is very important to have transport with a well-established reputation, quality and civilisation. The effort in operation and reform of the management and staff of West Coach Station Joint Stock Company basically meets those conditions of the people.

West Coach Station Joint Stock Company lies in the western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, serving passengers travelling from the city to Mekong Delta provinces. More than 130 transportation companies register to operate near 200 routes connected to the company’s coach stations to Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre provinces, and Can Tho City. At present, its coach stations are operating stably with three primary sources of income, including transportation, service provision, and financial income.

In the national infrastructure, Western Coach Station holds two tasks at the same time: Doing business for profit and providing public services (coordinating with local communes and wards to ensure security and civilisation inside and outside coach stations). Since 2009, its coach stations have continuously invested in upgrading infrastructure and service quality to ensure better travelling experiences for passengers.

Security is a top task of West Coach Station. The company coordinates with local police and local governments to ensure security and order during public holidays, to push back social evils like drug abuse and swindling. The company has been named an outstanding security keeper by the Ho Chi Minh City Policy Department. Besides, the coach station has a team of more than 60 security staffs in charge of protecting security and traffic flows. In addition, the company installed 45 surveillance cameras to record passenger flows and staff services in order to have better operation and service.

To realise the criterion “Secure and civilised coach station" and build international quality management system in line with ISO 9001-2008 standards, the company spares no effort to improve service quality and introduce reform solutions to operate the station in the best manner. Tran Van Phuong, Deputy General Director of West Coach Station Joint Stock Company, said: “The company maintains security and ensures service quality, especially during crowded public holidays. Hence, the company uses mass media to inform passengers, persuades drivers to make commitments (attitude, transportation, etc.). It also coordinates with the police of An Lac Ward to drive back troublemakers at the station. Besides, it also pays attention to rejuvenate the workforce to be more dynamic, creative and professional.”
The endless effort for the today’s results is described as the highest achievement employees devote to the society. This has made West Coach Station a favourite for long journeys of passengers, particularly from the Mekong Delta.
