ASEAN - India Caravan 2012 to Parade into Vietnam

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of India-ASEAN relations, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the support of the Government of India and ASEAN countries will organise an ASEAN-India Car Rally 2012. The 22-day event performed by 124 passengers and 31 Mahindra-branded vehicles will pass through 8,000 km through eight ASEAN countries (Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia) from November 26 to December 20, 2012.

 

This is a high-profile initiative to highlight transport connectivity and people-to-people linkages between India and ASEAN member countries, thus strengthening the development of trade, investment and tourism of participating countries.

 

The welcoming ceremony in the Vietnamese territory was held on December 6 and a farewell ceremony was hosted in the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City on December 7 at the witness of municipal authorities. Indian Foreign Ministry staffs, Indian Consulate General in HCM City and members joined the parade.

 

A conference on ASEAN - Indian Business was held on December 6 at the Rex Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City by the Indian Consulate General in HCM City and the HCM City Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI - HCM).
