German Ambassador to Vietnam, Jutta Frasch, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Tran Quang Quy, and Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Ngoc Phi, signed a Joint Statement on improvement of framework conditions for enhancement of practically oriented vocational training, especially training for businesses, in Hanoi on March 18, 2013.

The Joint Declaration was initiated by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and the German Business Association (GBA). Based on the successful model of oriented training in Germany, training at school must be combined with employment regulations in business environment. Thus, trainees will have the opportunity to get familiar early with their future working environment. The participation in a supplementary exam will help them with a chance to get a certificate of graduation in line with criteria of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK/AHK).

The initiative aims to make emerging training costs of an enterprise into tax-deductible business expenses, as well as significantly extend training time for students.
The Joint Declaration will be implemented by the German Business Association (GBA), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in line with the “Vietnam vocational training reform” programme funded by the German Government.
