CPI Reaches Record Low in Nov

The consumer price index (CPI) in November picked up 0.34 percent against last month, making a fresh record low in the last five years, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

In January-November period, CPI was kept at low level, soaring 5.5 percent against December, 2012 and 6.65 percent against the same period last year.

In November, CPI surged in nine out of 11 groups of commodities used to calculate the CPI between 0.07 percent and 0.62 percent.

Prices of restaurants and services saw the sharpest rising cost. Meanwhile, the group of medicines and medical services experienced the lowest rising price. Transport and postal costs declined slightly at 0.34 percent and 0.02 percent, respectively.

In the 11th month, gold price decreased by 1.04 percent against last month. USD price also posted month-on-month slight decline of 0.1 percent.
