Terry Fox Run Donates VND2Bln for Lung Cancer Carriers
The Terry Fox Run jointly held by Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Canadian Embassy, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and the National Cancer Institute, took place in Hanoi on November 11 and attracted the participation of over 3,000 Vietnamese and foreigners. The run is aimed at raising funds for cancer research in Vietnam.The Terry Fox Run was first held in Vietnam in 1996 in Ho Chi Minh City and, then, in Hanoi in 2000. The runs have attracted the participation of tens of thousands of people and raised over VND2 billion (US$123,388) to help lung cancer patients. Another Terry Fox Run will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 21.
