Showroom on Food, Foodstuff and Drinks for Export Opened

A showroom on food, foodstuff and drinks for export was inaugurated on December 7 at No. 92 – 96 Nguyen Hue Street, District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. Major exported products including seafood, processed food and well-known special food items such as fried meat spring-rolls, catfish, fish sauce, girdle cakes and spices, as well as some celebrated fruit (Nam Roi pomelo, Hoa Loc sweet mango), and locally exported goods (for tourists at restaurants and hotels) will be on display. The showroom aims to boost the development of these products.

The showcases have been professionally arranged combining the displays, a website and an online transaction office. Enterprises joining in the showroom will get assistance with interpretation work, preparing contracts, arranging working hours and giving tours around their workshops to prospective clients.

For the duration of the showroom (from now to February 15, 2005), there will also be meetings between Vietnamese chefs and the head of the cooking division at the Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, Mr Didier Corlou, about special dishes made from Vietnam’s famous ingredients.
