FDI Value Exceeds US$20 Billion in Jan-Nov

The General Statistics Office (GSO) said Vietnam attracted US$20.22 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 11 months of 2015, up 16.7 percent year on year. Specifically, the country licensed 1,855 fresh FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$13.55 billion, up 30 percent in projects and 1.1 percent in value over the same period of 2014.
 
Up to 47 out of 63 provinces and cities had FDI in the first 11 months, led by Bac Ninh, HCM City, Tra Vinh and Dong Nai. South Korea was the biggest among 56 foreign investors in Vietnam with US$2.515 billion.
