Vietnam to Showcase Goods in Czech Republic

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Young Businesses has organised a Vietnamese goods week in the Czech Republic capital of Prague from May 24 to 31, 2005 with the aim of assisting Vietnamese enterprises, and in particular Vietnam Golden Star Prize-winning companies and member enterprises of the Vietnam Association of Young Business.

This event is Vietnam’s largest concentrated trade promotion activity in Eastern Europe so far.  Vietnamese attendants will be supported with partial fees by the Government and will be patronised by the Vietnam Ministry of Trade and Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Vietnamese enterprises will have a chance to penetrate the Czech and Eastern Europe markets as well as the EU market (as the Czech Republic became a full member of the EU since May 1, 2004).

Vietnamese firms operating in the Czech Republic and Eastern European countries will be invited to take part in the seven-day event to help the Vietnamese enterprises to enter the Eastern European market.

The main activities of the Vietnamese Goods Week will be held at the Letnany Exhibition Centre, the largest trade fair centre in the Prague from May 26 to 29, 2005. The Vietnamese will be showcased at 30 pavilions during the 12th FOR HABITAT Trade Fair, which is an annual interdisciplinary consumer goods trade fair held from May 26 to 29 for leading enterprises from the Czech Republic and Eastern Europe.

In addition, a conference on boosting trade and investment cooperation between Vietnamese and Czech enterprises will attract the participation of about 200 enterprises. There will also be numerous supportive activities in Prague during the seven-day period including an exchange meeting for Vietnamese and Czech and Eastern European enterprises, market surveys in Czech and Slovakia and visits to Czech enterprises, cultural and friendship exchanges and picture exhibitions.
