'Vietnamese Jewellery Queen' Contest Warming up

The second 'Vietnamese Jewellery Queen' contest, organised by Jewellery Fashion magazine will be held in Hanoi with a permission of the Ministry of Culture and Information. Le Ngoc Dung, general secretary of the Vietnam Association of Goldsmith and Precious Gem and editor-in-chief of Jewellery Fashion magazine, said that the contest aimed at honouring the beauty of Vietnamese women and skilful hands of goldsmith artisans. This is also an opportunity to promote Vietnamese jewellery products to the world market.

Accordingly, Vietnamese single women aged between 18 and 27 (even Vietnamese nationals who live and work abroad) with a height of at least 1.6 metres can register for the contest. The winner of the contest will receive a bonus of VND 40 million, the first runner-up, VND 20 million, and the second runner-up, VND 15 million.

Also, a contest for products of goldsmith artisans nationwide will be organised. Products sent to the contest are jewellery sets, consisting of a necklace, bracelet, earrings and ring. The winner of the contest will be awarded VND 15 million, the first and second runners-up, VND 7 million and 5 million, respectively.

Dung said that the organisers would receive registration from contestants from May 21 and the final would be held in late October 2005.
