Aquatic exports exceed 4.3 per cent increase

Thanks to moving their export direction to the EU and the Chinese market, the country’s export turnover in the first 5 months increased by 4.37 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year to US$842 million regardless of difficulties encountered entering the US market.

According to experts’ estimations, aquatic products exported to China will continue to increase by between 10 per cent to 15 per cent thanks to raising the demand and limited supply in China as the State prohibits aquaculture exploitation to protect sea species which are in their reproductive period.

Vietnam’s aquaculture processing enterprises is changing direction towards new markets within the EU especially England, German, France, Belgium, and Italy. England and Belgium are currently Vietnam’s main shrimp importers, accounting for 40 per cent of total export turnover to the EU market.
