The Ho Chi Minh City Investment Fund for Urban Development (HIFU) reports to have provided VND2.91 trillion worth of credit to 170 projects around the city in the eight years since its establishment. They include the construction and upgrade of transport infrastructure, clean water supply system, industrial park infrastructure, new urban areas, schools, hospitals and medical centres.
Besides its registered capital of VND687.2 billion, the HIFU also receives VND1.19 trillion from the State Budget’s revenue and loans from commercial banks, foreign investment funds and investors. The Fund also mobilized VND4 trillion from issuing urban bonds during the 2003 to 2004 period.
