Intel Helps Vietnam’s SMEs Improve their Competitive Capacity

In order to realise its development support commitments to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam, on May 27 Intel held a seminar entitled “Solutions for Enterprises” in Haiphong.

The seminar provided local companies with information about automating their business production and enhancing labour productivity of staff via applying new technologies.

According to Intel, there are only 30 per cent out of 160,000 SMEs in Vietnam using computers for their businesses, the 3rd lowest rate in the Asia-Pacific region (just higher than China and Indonesia).

The rate of people using computers in Vietnam is one PC for every 26 persons, ranking 2nd in the bottom-up order (above Indonesia). Therefore, further investment in information and technologies for SMEs in Vietnam is considered necessary to help those companies to improve their competition capacity when the country is more deeply integrating into the world economy.
