Binh An Water Supply Project is the first B.O.T (Build-Operate-Transfer) clean water supply project signed between the Vietnamese and Malaysian governments. The wholly Malaysian-invested project run by Binh An Water Corp Ltd. was licensed in 1995 with an operational lifespan of 20 years.

BAWC has smoothly carried out three factors namely technical, financial and political that contribute to the success of the BOT project. Among them, the support from the Vietnamese Government during the implementation of the project and operation is listed on the top. Besides, the company has skilful workforce to operate the machineries and carry out proper maintenance. With strong potentials in water supply projects, the company is seeking new B.O.T projects in Vietnam. Currently, the parent company of   BAWC namely Salcon Engineering Berhad and IJM corporation Berhad are  participating in several Asian Development Bank-funded projects such as water supply projects in Hanoi, Dong Nai, Kien Giang and Ninh Thuan provinces. In addition, according to Mr. Stephen Khor, General Director of BAWC, the company is also looking for opportunity to invest in real estate and other infrastructure projects such as roads and bridges because they are developing fast in Vietnam.

Apart from the traditional water supply activities, BAWC also carries out numerous community and social development activities such as raising flood relief funds and smile operation funds, building a basketball court for a local school, upgrading kindergartens in the region, participating in charity Terry Fox Run for cancer disease patients, presenting scholarships for poor students with excellent study results and assisting poor households in Binh Duong province.
