Italian Business Delegation Visits Vietnam

 

An Italian business delegation, led by Sicilia deputy mayor Onoverole and Senator Onoverole Savona, arrived in Vietnam this morning, starting a visit to boost trade and investment relations with Vietnam.

 

The delegation will work with the National Assembly, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids & Society and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

 

The visiting businesses will also work with authorities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Duong and Thua Thien Hue to sound out investment policies and will visit industrial parks in the localities.

 

Most of the visiting businesses operate in such fields as construction, trade, processing farm produce, producing handicrafts, machinery and advertisement.

 

Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Italy reached $173.6 million in the first quarter of this year, with Vietnam’s exports accounting for 57.4%. Vietnam exports footwear, coffee, seafood, garments and wooden products to Italy and imports machinery, textile and garment materials and motorbikes from the foreign market.

 

Vietnam attracted three investment projects worth $8.05 million from Italia in the first five months of this year, raising the number of Italian investment projects in Vietnam to 20 capitalized at $50 million.
