Expo 2005 Gaining Great Success

Expo 2005 of wood-based products at Hoang Van Thu - Tan Binh International Exhibition Centre on October 3 - 7, 2005 was concluded successfully. It was the third of its kind and the biggest ever organised with over 600 pavilions and 240 enterprises from 15 provinces and 10 countries, in particular, 24 pavilions from the US, Taiwan, China, Singapore.
 
The fair attracted 28,000 visitors including 8,000 foreigners (70 per cent more than last year). Over 300 contracts were concluded : 35 by Truong Thanh company, 14 by Trung Nghia, 19 by My Tai, 10 by Nam Son. The total value of the contracts was US$24.87 million (11.5 per cent more than 2004). Some big contracts have been signed such as US$5 million by Trung Thanh, US$2.85 million by Trung Nghia, US$856,000 by My Tai. The products this year are better selected, more defined and professional. The increase in the number of foreign visitors, contracts and MOUs has heightened the image of the fair.
 
At the fair, three seminars were organised by the organising committee, New Zealand Consulate General and VNCI introducing American market, New Zealand pine wood, timber evaluation and certification.
