Hatay Brewery Limited to launch modern canning line

Hatay Brewery Limited’s modern canning line was officially launched recently with the honorary presence of Hatay’s authorities, representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Health and the mass media.

In July 2005, Ha Tay Brewery Limited got the permission of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Asia Pacific Brewery Limited (Singapore) – its mother company - to install a new automatic canning line with a designed capacity in excess of 25,000 cans per hour. The line is mostly comprised of advanced technology and equipment imported from Germany and Australia, who is world-renowned in the beverage industry.

“The introduction of our new canning line significantly increase the brewery packaging capacity”, said Mr. Michael van der Poel, General Manager of Hatay Brewery Limited. “We hope that, with this modern canning line, we could offer a wide range of product variants that better satisfy consumers’ varying taste”.

Hatay Brewery Limited is the Northern brewer of familiar brand names as Heineken, Tiger, Anchor and Bivina. Launched in late 2003, it now operates the most modern brewery in the Southeast Asia with investment to date reaching US$67 million.
 
The successful installation and operation of the new canning line is HBL’s further step in its business development path to meet consumer’s taste, conquer Northern Vietnam’s market and increase tax payments. This is the goal that HBL is striving to achieve with its utmost effort now and in the future.

The investment of US$2 million in the installation of the canning line is a further significant step in the development and growth of Hatay Brewery. The canning line with its German filler machine is again using world-class equipment just like the rest of this state-of-the-art brewery. It has the capacity to fill over 50,000 cans per hour. The successful installation and operation of the new canning line will allow Hatay Brewery to focus on growing can volumes in northern Vietnam, increasing the popularity of our world class brands Heineken and Tiger, new entrant Anchor, as well as seeking for more opportunities in the future to offer our consumers greater choice of quality brands.
