Transerco Increases Transportation Services during 2006 Tet

The Hanoi Transportation Service Corporation (Hanoi Transerco) has researched the travel demand of local people during the 2006 Tet (Lunar New Year) to provide better services during the special occasion of the New Year.

 

Transerco’s number of buses increased by 2.5 per cent against 2004, maintaining the number of quality vehicles at 90 per cent, at least. Also, Transerco ensures that there will be 7,966 buses operating per day, increasing by 12.13 per cent against 2005.

The corporation estimates that the number of passengers will rise by between 15 and 20 per cent over 2004, at 16 million. In 15 routes to inter-provincial stops, the corporation will have 30,477 trips, or 1,456 trips per day. The corporation will increase its trips to inter-provincial stops by between 230 and 280 trips per day. In sum, the corporation will increase its number of buses for the occasion to around 2,619 vehicles.
