US$66.4Mln to be Poured in Tra My-Dung Quat Route
The Ministry of Transport has submitted to the Government for approval a project worth VND1,049 billion (roughly US$66.4 million) to build a road linking Tra My and Dung Quat port in central Vietnam.
If approved, the construction of the 92km-long road, connecting Tra My Bac district of central Quang Nam province, Tra Bong and Binh Son districts of central Quang Ngai province, and Dung Quat port, will start in the third quarter of this year.
Once completed after two years of construction, the route is expected to meet the demand for strategic transportation in the region, particularly the construction and operation of Chu Lai – Dung Quat economic zone.
Together with the Ho Chi Minh, 1A, 14E, and 24 highways, it will create a transport network, with favorable conditions for trading activities among the remote areas of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces, linking central coastal deltas with the central highlands and areas at the Vietnam – Laos border gate.
It will also boost poverty reduction and hunger alleviation.
