Vietnam is now seen as one of the most attractive destinations in the world for foreign investors, especially by US and Japanese firms, foreign media have reported.

According to France’s Forum Economics newspaper, US firms find Vietnam as a good production base due to high skilled and hardworking labor force and low production costs, particularly when the country is going to join WTO.

Meanwhile, a survey by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) revealed that Japanese investors have praised Vietnam as the most attractive investment destination among ASEAN member-countries. Vietnam topped with 38.8 per cent of the companies, naming it the best investment destination, followed by the Philippines with 26.1 per cent, Thailand with 21.6 per cent, and Singapore with 20.2  per cent.

Japanese companies operating in six ASEAN countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – were polled, in addition to India.
